Anti-CAFTA Protests in San Salvador

A group of 300 protesters converged on the Salvadoran National Assembly today to protest ratification of CAFTA. A group of protesters managed to get into the Assembly chambers and to disrupt the opening of today's session which was scheduled to approve the treaty. An update from the CISPES web site is here. The web sites of La Prensa and El Diario del Hoy report that authorities are working to clear government areas of the protesters including the use of tear gas.
